October 2011: Beartooth Billings Clinic Physicians and Foundation Assist High School Athletic Departments

The Athletic Departments of both Roberts High School and Red Lodge High School were the recipients of checks from Beartooth Billings Clinic to further sports projects and programs. Athletic Director George Nelson received the check on behalf of Roberts High School, while Athletic Director John Fitzgerald accepted on behalf of Red Lodge High school. For photographs of these two check presentations, please click here.

The checks were the result of Beartooth Billings Clinic physicians and health-care providers donating back the time they spent in providing Sports Physical exams for students from these schools. Each year, as school commences, student(s) may choose between making an appointment for their physicals OR attending one of the scheduled and publicized "Sports Physical Days" held at either Beartooth Billings Clinic in Red Lodge or at Roberts High School. If you would like to learn more about this program, please call Beartooth Billings Clinic at 446-2345.

July 2011: 1950s "Grease" Theme Beartooth Ball Benefits the Foundation and the Endowment

Close to 400 cool cats and hip chicks attended the 16th Annual Beartooth Ball on June 18, 2011, also known as The Grease Ball, patterned loosely on the 1980s hit movie, Grease. Major sponsors Briggs Distributing Co. and Clay & Lynne Cummins helped make the event a success, along with a myriad of additional supporters.

Held at the Red Lodge Airport with a bonanza of 50s-era decorations and highly lacquered vintage vehicles, the event began at 4:30 with a VIP wine tasting, then swung into Silent and Live Auctions, with music by the Midlife Chryslers—largely comprised of talented physician-musicians--commencing at 9:00 p.m. Revelers partied until the wee hours.

A Danny-and-Sandy look-alike contest, along with an impromptu drag race, as well as a raffle drawing for a Wine Country Getaway, helped punctuate the evening with excitement. The event raised close to $50,000, which will boost the Foundation's Endowment fund and will help the Foundation conduct important fundraising work throughout the year.
