Acute Care

Short-Term Inpatient Care

Acute Care has long been a hallmark of patient care at Beartooth. The patient receives active, short-term treatment for a severe injury or episode of illness, an urgent medical condition, or during recovery from surgery. As they prepare to return home, patients may move from Acute Care to Transitional Care, where they have the benefit of many skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Services.

At Beartooth, Acute Care services are delivered by a team of health care professionals. The nurse-to-patient ratio is excellent, creating a favorable setting for recovery and strong caregiver relationships. Because acutely ill patients are an important part of our patient population, a range of essential services are made available to them, such as the Emergency Department, Radiology/Diagnostics, Laboratory, frequent physician visits, and more. Also, any patient who requires transfer to a larger medical center – such as those in Billings – can be easily transferred via ground ambulance or helicopter.

By assisting the patient from Acute Care through Transitional Care—as well as through outpatient therapy or Home Care services, Beartooth Billings Clinic strives to restore health and get each patient home again, resuming normal activities and spending time with family.
