New Surgical Technology Strengthens Local Care
For Immediate Release
August 6, 2026
RED LODGE, MT – Thanks to the generosity of donors, Beartooth Billings Clinic has expanded access to advanced surgical and specialty services with the addition of a new C-arm imaging system.
Funded in part through the 2025 Fun Run for Charities and the Beartooth Billings Clinic Foundation YearEnd Appeal, the mobile imaging system provides real-time X-ray guidance during podiatric procedures and pain management treatments. The technology improves precision and patient outcomes while allowing more advanced care to be delivered locally. This investment builds support upon the 2024 Fun Run for Charities, which funded a new anesthesia machine.
The C-arm has expanded Beartooth Billings Clinic’s outpatient procedure offerings, including podiatric and beginning this fall, orthopedic hand surgery, as well as pain management treatments such as corticosteroid injections, nerve blocks, radiofrequency ablations, and trigger point injections. Patients can now access a broader range of specialty services close to home, reducing the need to travel for their care.
The enhanced surgical capabilities also create a more seamless patient experience, allowing many individuals to receive consultations, diagnostics, procedures, and follow-up care in Red Lodge. Last month, Podiatric Surgery Specialist Dr. Bijon Andrade performed the first foot surgery at Beartooth Billings Clinic, marking a milestone in the expansion of local specialty services.
“We’re seeing excellent outcomes with the procedures being performed using the C-arm,” said Lindsey Loyning, Outpatient Services Manager. “Surgeries are going really well, and this technology allows us to offer services locally that many patients previously had to travel to receive. It’s rewarding to keep more care close to home and serve our community in new ways.”
Further expanding access to specialty care, Orthopedic Hand Specialist Dr. Ryan Davenport begins seeing patients in Red Lodge this month. His services include treatment and surgery for carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, cysts, fractures, and tendon injuries.
In addition to supporting the surgical expansion, Foundation funding helps strengthen patient care services, essential operations, and community health programs that promote healthier communities throughout Carbon County.
“We are deeply grateful to the donors of the Beartooth Billings Clinic Foundation whose generosity continues to make these advancements possible,” said Linda Harris, Executive Director of the Beartooth Billings Clinic Foundation. “Their support is helping us bring more comprehensive, high-quality care to patients right here at home.”
“Every advancement we make is rooted in the generosity of our community,” said Abby Lotz, CEO of Beartooth Billings Clinic. “Because of our partnerships with Billings Clinic and our donors, patients can access more specialized care in Red Lodge, reducing travel burdens and allowing families to stay together during treatment and recovery.”
